1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions carry the meanings assigned below:

  • "Karendel" / "we" / "us" / "our" โ€” the entity operating from 24 Raffles Place, #29-05, Clifford Centre, Singapore 048621.
  • "Programme" โ€” any reading circle, reading workshop, or reading programme offered by Karendel, including the Estate Planning Reading Programme, Pre-Retirement Reading Workshop, and Household Money Reading Circle.
  • "Participant" / "you" / "your" โ€” any individual who enrols in or attends a Programme, or who uses the Karendel website.
  • "Materials" โ€” reading binders, glossary cards, workbooks, conversation cards, and any other printed or digital items distributed as part of a Programme.
  • "Website" โ€” the Karendel website accessible at karendeli.pro.
  • "Agreement" โ€” these Terms and Conditions together with any confirmation correspondence relating to your enrolment.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Website or submitting an enquiry or enrolment form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Website or enrolling in any Programme.

You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding arrangement. Our Programmes are designed for adults aged 40 and above; participants between 18 and 39 may enquire, and admission is at Karendel's discretion.

3. Service Description

Karendel provides reading-led educational programmes on topics relating to personal financial vocabulary, estate planning documents, pre-retirement frameworks, and household money conversations. All Programmes are strictly educational in nature and do not constitute financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any form of regulated advisory service.

Programmes are available to residents of Singapore and to individuals who are able to attend sessions in person at our programme venues in Singapore. Session schedules and cohort availability are communicated upon enrolment confirmation.

4. Enrolment

Enrolment in a Programme is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment and written confirmation from Karendel. Submission of an enquiry form does not constitute a binding enrolment.

Cohort sizes are small by design (typically ten to twelve participants). We operate a waitlist where cohorts are full. Your position on the waitlist is confirmed in writing, and we will contact you when a place becomes available.

Karendel reserves the right to decline any enrolment application at its sole discretion, including where an applicant does not meet the stated age or suitability criteria for a Programme.

5. Participant Responsibilities

As a Participant, you agree to:

  • Attend sessions with the preparation indicated in pre-session materials
  • Engage with other cohort members respectfully and considerately
  • Keep the contents of peer discussion sessions confidential within the cohort
  • Use Materials only for personal, non-commercial reading and reference
  • Refrain from recording sessions (audio or video) without prior written agreement
  • Notify us promptly if you are unable to attend a scheduled session

Participants who disrupt sessions or behave in a manner inconsistent with the programme's discussion-led format may be asked to withdraw, without entitlement to a refund for sessions already delivered.

6. Intellectual Property

All reading materials, glossary cards, workbooks, website content, and programme structures are the intellectual property of Karendel and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Materials solely for your own educational purposes.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or share Materials (in whole or in part) without our prior written consent.

7. Payment Terms

Programme fees are priced in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are as follows:

  • Estate Planning Reading Programme โ€” S$870 per participant
  • Pre-Retirement Reading Workshop โ€” S$300 per participant
  • Household Money Reading Circle โ€” S$165 per participant

Full payment is required to confirm enrolment. We accept payment by bank transfer, PayNow, and other methods confirmed in the enrolment correspondence. Fees quoted are inclusive of all Materials provided as part of the Programme.

Fees are non-transferable between Participants and between Programme cohorts unless agreed in writing by Karendel.

8. Cancellation & Refunds

8.1 Cancellation by Participant

  • Cancellation 14 or more calendar days before the first session: full refund less a S$30 administrative fee.
  • Cancellation 7 to 13 calendar days before the first session: 50% refund of the programme fee.
  • Cancellation fewer than 7 calendar days before the first session, or after the programme has commenced: no refund.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected].

8.2 Cancellation or Deferral by Karendel

In the unlikely event that Karendel cancels a Programme before it commences, enrolled Participants will receive a full refund of fees paid or, if preferred, a transfer to the next available cohort at no additional charge. Karendel is not liable for indirect costs incurred by Participants in connection with a cancelled Programme.

9. Disclaimers

All Programmes are provided for educational reading and discussion purposes only. Nothing in any Programme or Material constitutes financial advice, legal advice, investment advice, or any recommendation regarding any financial product or decision.

Karendel is not licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a financial adviser or capital markets service provider. Participants should consult appropriately qualified professionals for advice on their individual circumstances.

The Website and Materials are provided "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Karendel's aggregate liability to any Participant arising from or in connection with a Programme shall not exceed the total fees paid by that Participant for the Programme in question.

Karendel shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, including loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, arising from participation in or use of any Programme or Website content.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is not permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Karendel, its directors, employees, and representatives from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Materials, or your conduct during a Programme session.

12. Termination

Karendel may terminate your participation in a Programme with immediate effect if you breach these Terms in a material way and fail to remedy the breach within 5 days of written notice. In such cases, no refund of fees paid for sessions not yet delivered will be provided.

Provisions that by their nature survive termination โ€” including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property rights โ€” shall continue to apply following the end of your participation.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to informal resolution by written notice to [email protected]. We aim to respond within 14 business days.

Where informal resolution is not reached within 30 days, either party may refer the dispute to mediation under the Singapore Mediation Centre's mediation rules before commencing litigation. The courts of Singapore shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute not resolved through the above processes.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with any enrolment confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Karendel in relation to a Programme.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it at a later time.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
  • Notices: Formal notices should be addressed to [email protected] or the postal address below.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If you are currently enrolled in a Programme at the time of a material change, we will notify you by email. Continued participation in Programmes following notification of changes constitutes acceptance.
